Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time in the history of Independent India, The wheels of Indian Railways were stopped for passengers. While the railway services were inoperative across country, Indian Railway Ministry and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala was looking up for a solution which can protect as well as enhance the quality of journey and minimize the requirement of touching any surfaces during the journey.
It was the early of June when Designing team of RCF Kapurthala came to know about our solution, they showed very keen interest in the technology and explored all the faces of incorporating the same. Our solution was found to be most flexible and scalable to be incorporated in rail coaches and got approved from designing department to be incorporated in Post COVID Coaches of Indian Railway.
As soon as we got the approval, our technical team started working on designing the solution. The first challenge for us was, to design the solution which can sustain the vibration due to high speed and second was to execute the project during the lockdown. With the help our expert and dedicated team we successfully executed the project with desired result. It was our dedication which got us recognized by the Honorable Railway Minister of India, who acknowledged our technology on his official twitter handle.
Various media bodies also recognized our work. “The plasma air equipment will sterilize the air and surfaces inside the AC coach using ionized air to make the coach Covid-19 and particulate matter resistant. This provision will also improve the ion concentration from 100 ions/cm3 to more than 6000 ions/cm3” Quoted one of prestigious media body, while describing our solution.
